Manufacturing Sector in India -Part 4

India’s manufacturing sector was steady last month (September 2012) as it enjoyed support by stronger manufacturing growth and climbing export orders, according to survey. HSBC Chief Economist for India and the ASEAN Leif Eskesen said, “Economic activity in the manufacturing sector held steady supported by faster output growth and rising export orders.  The opinion of some of the business analysts are India will witness considerable rise in manufacturing cost due to the threat from high food prices and sticky inflation in India. Since government has clarified that economy will grow at 6.5% during FY13 and inflation will vary around 7.5-8%, manufacturing cost will impact the productivity of other sectors.  Dr GS Juneja, chairman, task force on MSME, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “The cost of manufacturing will grow. The sector will face some problems as manufacturing cost will raise the cost of other sectors as well.” Prime Minister's Economic Advisor C Rangarajan said that Centre stated that it is taking initiatives to redress the situation of poor industrial growth.

Manufacturing Sector in India -part 3

The manufacturing sector’s contribution to India’s GDP is considered low when compared to other Asian economies (in which manufacturing contributes more like 25 to 34 percent to GDP) and is seen as not fulfilling its potential. To remedy this, the recently released National Manufacturing Policy has set clear objectives to harness the sector for economic growth, including an emphasis on FDI and foreign technologies. FDI in multi brand may be problem for manufacturing sector because domestic retailers source domestically. International retailers operate on the principle of buying internationally at the cheapest cost. Majority items to be sold by international retailers are going to be sourced from cheaper manufacturing economies like China. Clothes, shoes, toiletries and other items of daily use are not likely to bear the Indian signature. The fall in manufacturing sector jobs is likely. India needs to improve manufacturing sector, so as to enable us develop into low cost manufacturing economy. For this, we need to improve infrastructure, low cost utilities, competitive interest rates and trade facilitation. If India improves manufacturing sector, FDI won’t go to other economies to source products.

Let Me Die A Youngman's Death by Roger Mcgough

Let me die a youngman's death
not a clean and inbetween
the sheets holywater death
not a famous-last-words
peaceful out of breath death

When I'm 73
and in constant good tumour
may I be mown down at dawn
by a bright red sports car
on my way home
from an allnight party

Or when I'm 91
with silver hair
and sitting in a barber's chair
may rival gangsters
with hamfisted tommyguns burst in
and give me a short back and insides

Meaning of the poem

The poet is conveying that he wants to have a young man’s death. The line “not a clean and in between the sheets holy water death” means that he don’t want  to be in between the sheets and holy water to be poured over his body. The next line “not a famous-last-words peaceful out of breath death” means that he don’t want to say famous words when he is going to be out of breath. The next stanza “When I'm 73 and in constant good tumour may I be mown down at dawn by a bright red sports car on my way home from an all night party “ means that when he is 73 and having tumour he will be down at dawn that he can’t go in a bright red sports car after an all night party. The next stanza” Or when I'm 91 with silver hair and sitting in a barber's chair may rival gangsters with hamfisted tommyguns burst in and give me a short back and insides” means that when he is 91 with silver hair and sitting in a saloon then if rival gangsters with tommyguns come he can’t do anything other than getting a short in the back and inside by them. The second and third stanza of the poem shows the pathetic situation of the poet when he is old.

"When it rains" by Nabaneeta Dev Sen

When it rains it seems the room itself turns blue, trembles
and falls like rain, as if endless time coming from nowhere
fills the room, as if endless wind blowing in
carries the room to the riverbank;
turning into a boat, I float
I get soaked; swaying, shivering, I keep
moving; in the distance one can see the line where
the river meets the sea, as if
all around waves hiss, as if there’s nobody around
anywhere as if a profound sobbing chokes the throat
as if terrifying harsh sobs strangle
the room – By what strange magic
the ten directions sparkle in a moment,
as if everything will revert
to its real shape, as if all is a dance,
all is rhythm, all is tinted light –
Awakening and seeing the rain, sometimes it’s
like this, then I pray Oh sky
break up the room and give me more rain!
By  Nabaneeta Dev Sen
This poem is about how a person feels when raining. "What is hope" by Vineet Bansal

What is hope.................?
What hope means

Hope is bright shining light which keeps darkness at the bay
Hope is gentle cold breeze on a hot summer day

Hope is to remain positive when going gets tough
hope is seeking more when others think u had enough

What hope means

Hope is dreaming of tomorrow
Hope is simmering under sorrow

Hope is sparkles when tears in our eyes
Hope is a beautiful thing & beautiful things never dies

What hope means

Hope is as light as a feather
Hope keeps all of us together

Hope is ubiquitous and free of cost
hope is the last thing ever lost.....
By   Vineet Bansal
This poem is about what is hope in author’s perception, he gave different meaning to hope in this poem. The author is comparing hope with bright shining light which means hope is something that keeps you happy and takes all the bad away. He is saying that hope is like someone making you smile on a bad day, like a refreshing wind on a hot day, saying hope makes you happy. Then hope keep you going and positive when things are getting tough for you like in any critical situations or problems in life if you have hope, it can bring you away from that problems. Hope never let you give up when others think that you have given up something which is not possible to continue .Hope will give you that push for you to continue, and dream of tomorrow. It is a relief, something that keeps you going, when you’re sad.Hope will never let you in sorrow or sadness, it will never let you give up and it will always be there for you. `
It is very easy to understand this poem and at the same time it is very meaningful for everybody.
I like this author, because he wrote this poem simply without using any tough words, anybody can understand this poem by reading it.

Manufacturing sector in India -part 2

By 2012, it is estimated, based on current economic projections, that this sector will employ a further 12–13 million out of nearly 89 million additional people who will enter the workforce. Studies have estimated that every job created in manufacturing has a multiplier effect, creating 2–3 jobs in the services sector. In a country like India, where employment generation is one of the key policy issues, this makes this sector a critical sector to achieve inclusiveness in growth. The key drivers of the huge growth of the manufacturing companies in India are due to the multinational companies. They are famous worldwide and contribute a lot in the economy of the country. India is one of fastest growing in automobile industries. The increasing need for automobiles in India made many of the foreign automobile manufactures to manufacture their products in India. Companies like Volkswagen have provided job opportunities in plenty. Maruti Suzuki India started production at its Manesar plant, which faced labour troubles recently, will return to normal by the middle of this month.
India is quickly rising as a worldwide manufacturing hub with a huge number of companies changing their manufacturing base to the country. Furthermore, India has the largest number of companies, outside of Japan, that have been recognized for excellence in quality.

Manufacturing Sector in India-Facts and Analysis

Manufacturing sector is the backbone of any economy which plays a vital role in India’s economic growth. India must strengthen its manufacturing sector in order to create new employment opportunities and to achieve faster rates of economic growth.  As we came through various information, we found that India is a young country with over 60% of population in the working age group of 15 to 59 years. Today, the manufacturing sector contributes about 15% of India’s GDP.India is basically agriculture based country, so we need to look into agriculture, how it involves to improve manufacturing sector, it is important to improve agriculture efficiency, so that there will be higher flow of jobs to the manufacturing sector. For manufacturing to grow more, we need supportive infrastructure environment. We found a society called SIAM-Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers is the apex industry body representing 46 vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India. There are many societies like this which acts as a major communication between government and manufacturers.

Indian manufacturing sector still suffers from bottlenecks like
1. Use of primitive technology
2. Poor infrastructure
3. over staffed operation
4. Expensive financing and bureaucracy.
A business survey showed on Monday, Growth in India's manufacturing sector eased to a nine-month low in August as export orders fell for a second month, underscoring the risks to the wider economy from Europe's debt crisis. Manufacturing mainly depends on power, but recently sixteen states in northern India fell into darkness last month as power grids collapsed, disrupting businesses and economic activi
So, it is important to keep in mind, Government must take some initiatives to improve the infrastructure and agriculture sector to boost manufacturing industries growth.
